Okay, this is a first time blog for me . . . so please be kind
I've got lots of thoughts about the world situation - some clear, some not so but what I want to talk about today is PATIENCE.
Patience, it used to be taught, is a virtue.
Good things come to those who wait.
Give it time, all will come right in the end.
After reading through many blogs in the last few weeks, I find that "liberals" (or as I prefer to call them "leftists") and many neo-con conservatives are the same on both sides of the world. In general, they have very little patience. They cry about how long the war in Iraq goes on - how many American soldiers are losing their lives, how many Iraqis are losing their lives and freedoms(!).
The struggle for American independence officially began in 1775 and did not end until 1781. Saddam was in power in Iraq from 1979 until 2003. We've only just begun the struggle for Iraqi freedom - and we're in this together!
How long, dear friends in Iraq are you going to let your Clerics and Mullahs keep you under their thumbs in a new form of tyranny? How long until you see that they have a place outside of government? Americans - how long are we going to let the doomsday prophets and naysayers affect our rational thinking? Should we not get back to the study of our own history? Can we not see how the path we're currently treading will lead us back into a different but equally bad form of bondage? The advent of political correctness, the concern for what others may think of us (without considering their stripe), the liberation of our society from any moral social mores is taking us down a primrose path that will ultimately lead to our destruction. When anything goes, everything goes. If there is no structure, no one to look up to or no higher ideal for which to strive, then comes chaos. And with chaos, the forces of evil are full well ready to take over.
I pray that we're not their yet, but oh, brothers and sisters, I am afraid.
