Just a quick thought . . .

Our media refers to the "Iraqi Conflict", "the war in Iraq" and "the war with Iraq" . . . I'm not quite sure when the change came about, but in my mind, this is no longer just a war with Iraq or a war in Iraq, but a war FOR IRAQ.

If you follow my line of thinking, you'll see that there is an important distinction here - as Americans, it's easy for us to separate ourselves from what is going on in Iraq if we think of it as "the war in Iraq". If we have no direct connection to the military (no family or friends in the war zone) it's easy for us to put it out of our minds as well when we say "the war with Iraq".

But if we look at is as the "war FOR Iraq", we realize that this is much more than just a war to free them from an oppressive tyranny - it is a war to help set them on the path of good for their people - we're battling for the hearts and minds of freedom loving Iraqis - to help them become a shining beacon of hope for the middle east.

Any thoughts?
